Aikotaan Supports Orange County Family Justice Center: A Community Outreach Success
On August 8, 2025, Aikotaan successfully hosted a charity event at the Orange County Family Justice Center (OCFJC), demonstrating our community’s commitment to supporting those in need. The event was the culmination of a month-long donation drive, organized by our dedicated volunteers, to collect non-perishable food items from our generous members.

The Donation Drive: Community Solidarity in Action
Driven by compassion and a shared commitment to supporting those in need, Aikotaan members rallied together to collect non-perishable food items. Volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the month, coordinating a comprehensive donation drive that showcased the group’s collaborative spirit and social responsibility. The turnout and support were truly inspiring. On the afternoon of August 8th, volunteers arrived at the OCFJC, carefully transporting the collected donations. The team meticulously sorted and organized the items, ensuring they were neatly stacked and ready for review by the center’s representatives. The scale of the donations was a testament to the compassion within our community.
Insights from Kristal Landry: Understanding OCFJC’s Mission
A highlight of the day was the informative session with Kristal Landry, the Community Service Coordinator. Following the delivery, Kristal graciously led a tour of the facility. She showed us the various rooms and explained in detail how the center provides a safe, confidential space and a wide range of services for survivors of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and elder abuse. She provided an in-depth overview of the Orange County Family Justice Center’s critical services and support mechanisms.
An Engaging Question and Answer Session
We had an engaging Q&A session with Ms. Landry, which further clarified the center’s mission and processes. Ms. Landry’s comprehensive overview highlighted how the OCFJC operates as a “one-stop shop” where victims can receive immediate assistance, from legal aid and court support to advocacy and counseling, all under one roof. The experience was deeply educational, providing us with a clearer understanding of the challenges victims face and the critical role the OCFJC plays in helping them navigate the path to safety and recovery.
We have a short video glimpse of our interaction with Kristal Landry, which you can view below.
Recognition and Gratitude
Kristal and the other OCFJC representatives expressed their gratitude for our efforts and the donated items. The donation of non-perishable food items will undoubtedly provide essential support to individuals and families served by the center. We, in turn, thank them for their time and for the invaluable work they do every day to serve the community.
